So, BOTH weekends of the Austin City Limits Music Festival have come to a close & from what I've heard, it was a blast! I definitely had a blast painting a giant 12'x8' wall at the festival a few weeks ago & have absolutely LOVED all the photos that have swarmed my Instagram/Facebook/Twitter feed of people getting "hooked" on it! Here are ONLY A FEW of the amazing photos some of you took from ACL Fest with my fisherman art. Well…it's finally here, THE BEST MONTH EVER INVENTED IN THE UNIVERSE OF ALL TIME!
That's right, the excitement of OCTOBER has taken over every cell in my doughnut/Haribo gummi bear craving body & I wouldn't want it any other way! This month has already started off with a BANG as today kicks off two giant events here in my home base city of Austin:
The first is, of course, Austin City Limits Music Festival. This two-weekend show crams hundreds of musicians/bands & THOUSANDS of music loving fans into the lush, green, open vastness that is Zilker Park. I've been to quite a few of these & if you can brave the sometimes rain, heat or dust & the always present crowds, it can be a super enjoyable experience. This year I was lucky enough to be included in HOPE/Spratx's nine artists that were asked to create "Photo Op" murals at the festival & to make the grounds a little more colorful. I threw paint all over a 12'x 8' wall & the result was this giant, 4-eyed, fisherman weirdo with an octopus on his head…because, WHY NOT?!?!:

The OTHER, big event happening this weekend is Austin Comic Con. This will be my fourth year break dancing here & I'm again sharing my table & dance moves with my handsome, twin brother, Lance. We'll both have some rad things spread across the table top in hopes that you take them all home. I'll have some new prints including this holiday-appropriate one ready to fill your heart with the Halloween spirit:
I'll be putting any extras I have up in my online store shortly after the convention is over, so check it in a few days & you can receive this fun print in time for your Halloween decorating!
