HAPPY NEW YEAR, FRIENDS!
I wanted to take a quickie to not only THANK YOU ALL for your continued support of my terrible habit called "art" but to also share a quick, little update on some stuff that's recently come out. So, yeah…a THOUSAND, MILLION times "thank you" to everyone who took the time to come by my table at a convention, shake my hand at a gallery show, purchase some art from me, used any of your free time to just look at my art online or anywhere else & just for being awesome this past year! I made a lot of new friends in 2014 & created stronger bonds with old ones, so I'm super excited to see what 2015 brings.
But getting to just a couple of things I wanted to let share with you:
I was lucky enough to do a variant cover for an amazing comic book series put out by Comix Tribe this year called AND THEN EMILY WAS GONE. Written by John Lees with gnarly art from Iain Laurie, this 5-issue, horror tale tells the story of a girl who turns up missing surrounded by the "legend" of Bonnie Shaw, a creepy creature who steals children. This David Lynchian series is a must read for not only giant fans of horror(like myself) but fans of great story telling, PERIOD. All five single issues have already been released with my variant cover coming out just a few weeks ago:
...Colored by the talented, Megan Wilson.
You can head to Comix Tribe & pick up all the single issues or preorder the entire story in a nifty trade coming out this new year.
Also, something else caught my attention right at the end of 2014. I luckily stumbled upon a fun, comedic, horror short film that was posted online in December & it stayed STUCK IN MY HEAD after my first viewing. Created by the McCoubrey Brothers(Peter & Luke) & obviously an amazing crew, 'THE GREY MATTER' is a pleasure to focus your eyeballs on. Along with solid acting from everyone involved, it's is simply pitched as:
"An office stiff wakes up in an alley mysteriously covered in blood. In the aftermath, he attracts the attention of his beautiful coworker, granting him a new lease on life…but something strange is afoot."
Go in knowing only that little bit of information & enjoy this 17-minute journey of oddball FUN that will also STICK IN YOUR HEAD. Watch it for FREE here.
After numerous veiwings, I couldn't help but draw a little something out since the imagery begged me to. I came up with this diddy that I hope you enjoy as much as I did the film:
Feel free to share my art & especially the link to THE GREY MATTER as it deserves to be seen by as many people as possible.
Again, THANK YOU for everything & I hope to see you ALL in 2015. May it be the best year yet!
